Sweet Pea Kitchen (Kellie's)

Sweet Pea Kitchen (Kellie's)

Kellie's Home Cooking was established in April of 1994 as a place to share family recipes that have been passed down from grandmothers and mothers. It has been a place for not only the good people of Loganville but people from all areas around Loganville to come and socialize with one another. We are so happy to share some good news with everyone, September 1, 2023, Danny and Rachel Hogsed purchased Kellie's from Doug and Kellie Driver who wanted to move to Florida so they could be with their family, and we wish them the best. With that being said, we have decided to change the name to Sweet Pea - Kitchen. We will still be a place to come and get home cooking as that is what we were both raised on. Some recipes will stay the same, but just like Kellie, we want to share our family recipes. The name Sweet Pea - Kitchen comes from our granddaughter Landis. She was only 6 months old for her first Halloween her costume was a sweet pea, and she was our little sweet pea from that day on. When Rachel started baking, she didn't want to name it Rachel's she considered lots of names and decided to call it Sweet Pea-Kitchen after their granddaughter Landis.
About Us

About Us

We are Danny & Rachel Hogsed; both of us were born and raised in Georgia. Danny's mother was from Atlanta and his dad from Hayesville N.C. Rachel's mother was from Memphis Tn. and her dad was from Stone Mountain. Her mother's parents moved to Memphis as children after coming here from Sicily. Danny has one sister and Rachel have four brothers and two sisters. Danny and Rachel have two boys Jeremy & Jason and one granddaughter. Danny is retired form Delta Airlines and found his love of cooking later in life. His dad Ed liked to smoke meats and make soups and stews. Danny watched and learned from his dad how to smoke meats. Soups and stews were something he could make, and it would last him for more than one meal. Nothing makes him happier than seeing someone enjoy the food he makes. Rachel retired from Sam's Club. After leaving Sam's, she started baking for family and friends. She learned to cook at a young age and biscuit and cornbread were one of the first things she ever made. Rachel's mother could only cook Italian food, until her mother-in-law taught her how to cook old fashion country food as well. Rachel feels very blessed to have learned how to cook both Italian food and country cooking from her mother. Now baking and making jams and jellies is what she loves to do the most, but there is nothing better than the smell of a family recipe being cooked and the memories of your Childhood coming back. We hope to continue the legacy that Kellie and her family started of home cooking for all of Loganville and surrounding areas to enjoy. Having a place to share our family recipes has been a dream of ours for a long time. So, come on in, sit down with friends or by yourself and chances are you will see someone you know or even make a new friend and enjoy good home cooking and homemade sweets. Hope to see you soon Danny & Rachel. We ask God to bless this place and each one that enter.
